Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Digital Animation in the School of Art and Design with a preferred start date of August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in the BFA in Digital Animation program and graduate courses in the MA in Art and Design.
  • Further develop the curriculum within Illustration and Sequential Art.
  • Mentor undergraduate students.
  • Engage in creative and/or scholarly activities.
  • Participate in departmental activities, course development, and serve on department and university committees as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • MFA (or foreign equivalent) in Animation or Illustration, or terminal degree in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites and software for 2D and/or 3D Digital Animation.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in 2D and/or 3D animation production, interactivity, design, and technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry experience and a record of professional achievement.
  • Teaching experience beyond graduate school.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Harmony, Toon‑Boom, Storyboard Pro, or similar software.
  • Expertise in motion graphics, illustration, or sequential art.
