This position provides life/work balance with a 40-hour, typical work week. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required as project deadlines demand. On-campus work is required. Coordinate with senior technicians and train junior technicians on best practices during installation tasks. Coordinate with programming team to ensure any necessary field variation is congruent with the programming scheme.*Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.** High school diploma or GED.* Technical Schooling in AV specific field(s).* Ability to use hand and power tools, soldering iron, crimpers, multimeters, signal generators, and testers.* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot and assist with the commissioning of AV systems of varying size and complexity.* Skills comparable to one year interpreting and generating electronic schematics, architectural layouts and markups, and other diagrams in a technical field.* Demonstrated skilled use of various industry standard computer applications for documentation generation and modification.* This position requires the ability to drive a university vehicle.At least four years of work experience in audio visual systems installation.More than six years of work experience in audio visual systems installation.**Start Here, Change the World**At The University of Texas at Austin, tradition meets innovation in the heart of a city that frequents lists of the best places to live and work.
