Associate Design Draftsman

Location: Mineral, VA (Primary location of assignment: N Anna Power Station)

Position Status: Contract

Position Description: Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Associate Design Draftsman to support drafting and design activities at a major nuclear power generation facility in Mineral, Virginia. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with strong technical drafting skills and hands‑on experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation in an industrial or utility environment. The Design Draftsman will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating engineering documentation, drawings, and diagrams supporting mechanical, civil, and electrical systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical projects within the power generation industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, update, and maintain industrial design drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Create and revise P&IDs, circuit and one‑line diagrams, prints, and charts based on engineer and designer input.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of technical data.
• Perform CADD drafting tasks using AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
• Retrieve and manage controlled drawings in compliance with document control standards.
• Perform freehand and mechanical lettering for drawings and technical posters.
• Ensure drafting work meets quality, safety, and compliance requirements within a regulated nuclear environment.
• Support additional design or drafting assignments as needed.

Required Skills & Education

• 3+ years of experience as a Design Draftsman in the utilities, construction, or energy industry.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD drafting tools.
• Strong understanding of interpreting construction estimates, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
• Solid mathematical skills with the ability to perform basic calculations.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and related applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Drafting/Design preferred.
• Must have prior utilities industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in electrical design, with combined mechanical and civil drafting experience considered a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain and troubleshoot CAD systems.
• Experience working within regulated or nuclear environments.
