Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE)

Sansom Staffing has partnered with a leading facility design firm to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE) for their Facilities Design Team. This role focuses on designing HVAC, plumbing, and utility piping systems (compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, etc.) for industrial, R&D, and commercial facilities. You’ll collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team across architectural, structural, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Perform load calculations and select mechanical equipment.
• Create detailed drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Conduct field investigations and support construction coordination.
• Attend client and project meetings; provide scope and proposal input.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of facility mechanical design experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or eligible for reciprocity via NCEES.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems; ASHRAE standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
