Product Design & Development – Apparel Graphic Designer
Schedule: Onsite Monday–Thursday, WFH Friday
Contract Length: 6 Months to start
Pay: ~$47/hr (W2 and benefit options)
The Planet Group is seeking an
Apparel Graphic Designer
with a strong background in
apparel, footwear, or accessories design
to join our well-known global retail brand on a 6-month contract. This role sits within the
Product Design & Development organization
focused on creating and refining graphics that bring collections to life across performance and lifestyle product lines.
You’ll collaborate closely with designers, developers, and material teams to execute
graphics for apparel and product collections , translating creative direction into factory‑ready art files that maintain the brand’s design integrity from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with
apparel, footwear, and accessories design teams
to develop and execute seasonal graphics that align with product stories and design direction.
Build
production‑ready schematics
and ensure all artwork is formatted accurately for factory handoff and manufacturing.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with
product development, color, materials, and technical design
to ensure feasibility and quality of printed and embroidered applications.
Translate creative concepts into graphic solutions for
jerseys, outerwear, performance apparel, lifestyle collections, trims, and packaging .
Support multiple overlapping seasons by managing file organization, uploads, and updates across internal design systems (Box, PLM, etc.).
Stay agile in a fast‑paced environment—iterating quickly and managing shifting timelines while maintaining high design standards.
Research emerging trends in
graphic techniques, placements, and materials
to push innovation in product design.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Graphic Design, Textile Design, or related field.
5+ years of professional experience
in graphic design, preferably within the
apparel, footwear, or accessories industry .
Proficiency in
Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
with a strong understanding of
screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, and heat transfer techniques .
Experience creating
factory‑ready art files, tech packs, and production schematics .
Deep understanding of
design application on product , including placement, scale, and material compatibility.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables across overlapping seasons.
Collaborative mindset with comfort working closely with product designers, developers, and overseas production teams.
