Lakeland University, a liberal arts institution, seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach multiple courses in Communication beginning in the spring, 2026 term.

Classes Include
COM 111 - Fundamentals of Public Speaking (2 sections)
As the study and application of the basic techniques of researching, constructing, and delivering a speech, this course helps students develop these skills through classroom performances on a variety of speaking topics in various situations. 3 credits. No pre-requisites.
COM 130 - Introduction to Mass Media
A survey of the history of newspapers, magazines, book publishing, radio, television, and film. Mass media theory and contemporary media issues are discussed in detail. 3 credits. Pre-requisite: GEN 110, Academic Writing I.

Candidates should possess, at minimum, a master's degree in communication or a relevant field and relevant teaching experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach undergraduate courses in communication.
- Work with full-time faculty and deans to understand and employ activities that meet course learning objectives.
- Administer and/or develop coursework (assignments, projects, in-class learning activities, exams) that meets and assesses course learning objectives.
- Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
- Use university technology as directed.
