Job Summary/Description
KPLC in Lake Charles seeks a motivated and dynamic MMJ to join our award-winning news team. A successful candidate must be a proven leader who is motivated and passionate about storytelling. The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator who excels in cultivating sources and producing enterprise stories. Applicant must have a love for local news, a passion for creative storytelling, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to generating own story ideas, setting up interviews, writing broadcast and digital stories. Its also important to maintain professional social media accounts and assist producers in showcasing stories. An MMJ will write, shoot, edit, and present stories for multiple newscasts under deadlines, as well as produce content for our stream and website. Ability to adlib and anchor is a plus, as our MMJs often fill in on the desk.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Qualified candidates must possess strong live reporting skills and be proficient on all digital platforms.
- Driving, shooting video, running a live shot, editing, and writing are required for this position.
- College Degree in Journalism or related field, internship, and/or professional newsroom experience needed.
- Previous work with Edius, ENPS, LiveU, VMix, and Canva is a plus.
