Job Summary
Provide supervision over Court Clerks in customer service, court services, and court collections.
Work in this classification requires an individual to be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Typical Classification Essential Duties
- Develop work plans for a unit, monitor daily operations of work unit, ensure goals and objectives of the area are being met, recommend staff assignments and training, and evaluate employees.
- Serve as a back-up to the Judicial Office Supervisor.
- Coordinate coverage for various job duties for semi-annual rotation and to accommodate vacation/sick time off.
- Schedule Pro-tem Judges when coverage is needed.
- Prepare and submit payroll.
- Monitor case files for accuracy and completeness, correct errors and assist clerks with corrections, instruct clerks on eliminating errors, and review case management policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency of the court.
- Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints.
- Develop ideas to improve efficiency and forecast the future of the court, review and analyze legislative changes to determine impact on the court, and stay current on all programs affecting operation of the court.
- Promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) years of general clerical experience, of which two (2) years are legal clerical or court-related experience. Civil Traffic Hearing Officer or ability to become one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Arizona residents must have an Arizona Driver’s License upon hire; newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skill in applying judgment in applying policies, goals, and objectives, and in applying concepts, plans, and strategies which may deviate from traditional methods.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Physical Demands
The work is sedentary and may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; involves fingering, grasping, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting, hearing, speaking, stooping, walking, and maintaining mental and visual acuity.

Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires adaptability to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
