Industrial Designer for Studio111
who will contribute to the creation and development of packaging and product solutions that balance brand expression, consumer experience, and manufacturability. Works with increasing independence, managing smaller projects and collaborating with Design Directors, Principals, and cross-functional partners to bring ideas from concept to commercialization.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and refine packaging concepts through research, sketching, CAD modeling, and visualization.
Translate creative direction into manufacturable solutions that meet aesthetic, functional, and cost objectives.
Manage small- to mid-scale projects with limited supervision, balancing brand, functionality, manufacturability, and business needs.
Steward designs through commercialization, maintaining intent from concept through production.
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Design Directors to ensure quality and alignment of deliverables.
Participate in critiques and Studio initiatives to strengthen design quality and workflow efficiency.
Mentor junior designers and interns through feedback and peer coaching.
Model Berlin’s “Anything Is Possible” attitude and positively represent Studio One Eleven in all customer and cross-functional interactions.
Fulfill employee portion of the “Berlin Values.”
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
BS/BFA in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Packaging Engineering.
3–5 years’ experience in a corporate design department or design consultancy.
Strong visualization and storytelling ability through sketching, rendering, and presentation.
Proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent parametric CAD) and KeyShot for modeling and rendering.
Advanced working knowledge of Sketchbook Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Understanding of rigid packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and CMF application.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentations.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
Ability to travel as needed.
Design Studio at our Corporate Headquarters currently located at 525 W. Monroe Street with plans to move to the Merchandise Mart in 2026.
IL Base Pay Range
$70,000 - $80,000 USD
