Job DescriptionJob Description

We currently have an opening for a Radio Communication Techninican. Starting pay with minimal experience is $26 per hour on up to $36 per hour for proven experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Demonstrate sound time-management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.
  • Present a professional image in dress, and action at all times promoting trust and confidence in the team and the organization.
  • Continually seek and accept opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Meet with clients to establish requirements.
  • Effectively provide training to end users.
  • Document work performed.
  • Land mobile radio installation.
  • Land mobile radio programming, maintenance, and service.
  • Assist with public safety radio console installation and maintenance.
  • Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, and fiber optic patch panes, and other associated hardware.
  • Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the main warehouse and offices along with ten tower sites across north central Iowa.

Qualifications (Required) For Radio Communication Techninican:

  • Must be insurable to drive company vehicles.
  • Computer literate - able to use Excel, Word, Outlook (Office 365).
  • Be able to effectively communicate orally (in person and over the telephone) and in writing (using electronic devices and handwritten) with other employees and organizational contacts in English.
  • Ability to collaborate with other technicians.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Ability to climb up ladders and work on roofs safely.
  • Familiar with basic telecom tools.
  • Familiar with power tools.

Qualifications (Beneficial, Not Required) For Radio Communication Techninican:

  • Schematic reading and board level soldering.
  • Proficient in the use of digital multi-meter.
  • GROL , but not required.
  • Two years of school in electronics or information technology or equivalent military experience , but not required.
