Hours: 24 flex 32hrs
Shift: Night shift, 11:15pm - 7:15am with weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Manager, Patient Care or designee; provide continuous observation and monitoring of up to 16 high-risk patients who have been determined to be at risk for potential injury to self or others. Operate Tele Sitter Video Monitoring system, perform safety rounding, and patient checks. Maintain fleet of video monitoring equipment including delivering, picking up, and cleaning of equipment. Use appropriate tone and language, identify escalating behaviors, and apply de-escalation techniques. Prioritize simultaneous situations. Communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes. Communicate effectively using a microphone and headset. Accurately document and provide thorough shift hand-off reports. Maintain patient and institutional confidentiality and follow hospital policies. Use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff. Bilingual in English and Portuguese is preferred.
Qualifications
- Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent.
- Additional secondary healthcare training including mental health experience is preferred.
- Training or the equivalent experience caring for patients with behavioral issues required.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office. Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis and emergency situations is required.
- Must possess and demonstrate highly effective interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Previous similar patient care experience is preferred. Education and experience equivalent to a minimum of one (1) year of experience required.
- Efficiency in multitasking and ability to prioritize simultaneous situations.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be exempt with a signed exemption statement after hire.
Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Note: Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.
Pay Range
USD $16.11 - USD $26.02 /Hr.
Rotation Schedule
Every other weekend and holiday rotation
