Senior Medical Writer (SMW)
A Senior Medical Writer (SMW) is responsible for content development, proactively communicating with clients, and driving the strategic direction of the product. S/he will have detailed knowledge of product, competitive landscape, key literature, and evolving science in the field specific to that product and will stay abreast of current literature and competitive landscape. The SMW will collaborate closely as a strategic partner with Project Management and Client Services to establish project plans, identify and anticipate issues that could affect timelines while meeting agency standards.
Responsibilities
Provide scientific expertise during pitches, meetings, and discussions with client and team.
Oversee projects in collaboration with Client Services, monitoring efficiency of projects and processes.
Create high quality content and execute exceptional research to support internal and external projects.
Serve as Medical and Scientific Services lead on designated projects: create content and manage assigned tasks.
Build relationships with clients through regular and consistent engagement on calls or in meetings.
Be proactive and solutions-oriented.
Ensure capacity is met as directed by manager and proactively reach out to manager or team members to support when under capacity.
Reason and problem-solve from multiple perspectives and help resolve situations that arise between team members or cross-account teams.
Qualifications
Advanced terminal degree in biomedical sciences, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in an agency, the pharmaceutical industry, or a related scientific or medical writing position in oncology, hematology, or rare diseases.
Proven ability to work independently.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficiency with Veeva preferred.
