The Web and Digital Design team is part of University Communications and Marketing, Indiana University's (IU) central marketing organization. The team improves digital constituent experiences and helps achieve university strategic priorities through marketing technology. Additionally, the team serves as a strategic partner to schools, departments, and units in transforming how we use technology to market IU.
Job Summary
Support a wide range of tasks, including search analytics, optimization, and artificial intelligence (AI) tasks using platforms such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, ChatGPT/Google Gemini (or similar AI), Semrush, ScreamingFrog, Siteimprove, Looker Studio, Tableau, and others.
Collaborate with IU marketing and web professionals across the university.
Translate plain-language requests into dashboards and reports, monitor IU's overall search engine optimization (SEO) health, analyze content visibility and performance in search, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Manage, normalize, and join data from multiple sources and present insights clearly for stakeholders at various levels.
Conduct keyword research and on-page content optimization.
Ensure on-time delivery of all requests. Adhere to processes that ensure data security and privacy in accordance with university policies and all governmental legal requirements (e.g., Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), etc.).

Education
Required
Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Indiana University
Work Experience
Required
Background in computer science, data science, human computer interaction, information science, information systems, marketing, communications, media, or a related field
Skills
Required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a customer-centered approach and ability to interact with university leadership
Foundational knowledge of SEO, user experience (UX), and web accessibility principles
Familiarity with web performance reporting, content analysis, and dashboard creation
Experience working with data and reporting, including strong Excel and Structured Query Language (SQL) skills
Experience with tools such as Google Search Console, ScreamingFrog, Semrush, Siteimprove, Google Analytics, Looker Studio or Tableau, and AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot

$15 per hour
