Job Summary

Provide therapeutic programming and treatments for patients through art, music, or recreation activities. Collaborate with the treatment team, participate in patient education, and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic programming and treatments for assigned patients.
• Conduct a minimum of four groups daily and provide notes after each group.
• Evaluate assigned groups on a regular basis and maintain activity assessments, group notes, care plan reviews, and progress notes.
• Participate in treatment planning, case reviews, physician rounds, and treatment team meetings.
• Administer patient care in a safe and effective manner while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Provide field instruction and supervision for recreation or music therapy student interns.
• Research and share evidence‑based programming techniques.
• Provide behavioral health education to community agencies, facilities, and referral sources.
• Maintain supplies and supplies inventory.
• Participate in hospital‑wide committees as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Bachelor’s Degree in art, music, recreation, or related field.
