The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time position in Learning Design and Technology at the rank of Associate or Full Professor (tenure review upon hire) to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate may be appointed as the Director of the Texas A&M Institute for Technology-Infused Learning (https://titil.tamu.edu/).
Position responsibilities include a) maintaining external funding and a research agenda that has achieved or will achieve national/international significance, b) teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and c) enhancing and elevating learning design and technology research and practice applied to the preparation of the next generation of teachers, researchers, instructional designers, and academic leaders. The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture is dedicated to providing students with a world-class education, generating research-based solutions, and sharing knowledge with our communities.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate with specialization in Learning Design and Technology or a closely related field
Publications in high-quality outlets
A research agenda that is well-defined and focused
External funding history or potential
Preferred Qualifications
Commitment to research-based pedagogical practices
Minimum of two years full-time school teaching experience (or comparable)
Experience teaching graduate and undergraduate learning design and technology courses
Commitment to research-based pedagogical practices in multiple formats (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid)
Understanding of current issues and trends impacting learning design and technology
Leadership experience relevant to serving as the Director of the Institute for Technology-Infused Learning
Commitment to Texas A&M’s core values: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect, and Selfless Service
Responsibilities Conduct high-quality research, seek and secure external funding to support research activities, model research-based pedagogical practices in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, effectively mentor graduate/undergraduate students, work collaboratively with faculty within our department and across campus, and contribute to activities and initiatives in the Department, College, and University.
Appointment This is a nine-month appointment. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
