Social Media Strategist - Music Industry Join to apply for the Social Media Strategist - Music Industry role at SSi People . Location: NYC – Hybrid, 1–2 days in office. We are looking for someone experienced in social media within music label environments (no TV or film). The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of music fandom behavior and can lead engaging social media campaigns for artists, albums, and industry partners. Responsibilities Advocate for best‑in‑class organic social in every setting. Act as a thought leader to proactively identify and communicate learnings, best practices, platform trends and/or a necessary social point‑of‑view. Regularly report on both the status of work and wider performance, sharing actionable insights with peers, internal, and external partners. Develop and execute strategies to drive positive engagement for our artist, album, industry, and partnership campaigns. Lead fan engagement, GTM, and content calendar plans, ensuring alignment with GOSS and wider clients priorities. Stay ahead of evolving social algorithms, best practices and community behaviours, taking proactive initiative to optimize our social presence. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the behaviours, trends, and passions of music fandoms, with an expert understanding of how artists and fans engage. Monitor social listening to gauge sentiment, identify relevant themes and trends, track, analyze, and optimize social performance to support team KPIs. Ensure all content adheres to both the Social Style Guide and Strategy. Rigorously vet content for brand safety, alignment with department strategy, and broader business objectives. Manage time and resources with care and precision, ensuring thoughtful coordination across distributed teams, time zones, and dependencies. Use the RACI model to clearly identify roles and responsibilities across projects. Maintain clarity and accountability in communication, ensuring visibility across teams and leadership. Lead on‑site content capture and real‑time coverage strategy for industry milestones, artist campaigns, and brand partnerships/activations. The ability to embrace controlled chaos, pivoting in a strategic and timely manner, often without being asked. Communicative and Present: communicate transparently and proactively; maintain visible leadership with peers, management, and stakeholders. Astute and Discerning: apply strategy and marketing principles in ambiguous circumstances where typical ways of working may not apply. Algorithm Expertise and Optimization: Technical understanding of social media algorithms; analyzing algorithm changes and optimizing content for reach and engagement. Communicate Social Insights to Influence Decision‑Making: Persuasive communication to influence stakeholders. Expert Communication, Project Management, and Account Management: Organizational and interpersonal skills; coordinating remote teams and managing multiple projects/accounts. Excellent Discernment in a Constantly Changing Environment: Sound judgment and decision‑making in evolving social media.
