
Title: Technical Writer/Instructional Designer (Product Manager)
Location: Hybrid in Orlando - 4 days a week on site
Qualifications • At least 3 years confirmed working experience in Instructional Design and with instructional technology • Shown ability crafting, writing, and producing learning content for both soft skills and technical education • Ability to design and develop classroom and synchronous virtual classroom learning content for both new and incumbent Team Members • Ability to design and develop eLearning/online learning content using tools such as Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud applications • Organizational and project management skills • Ability to handle and protect confidential information • Ability to work together within a dynamic team environment • High affinity for the Disney brand • Ability to clearly document technical process diagrams, including but not limited to business process flows, data flow diagrams, user journeys, etc. • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design
Responsibilities • As a Technical Writer/Instructional Designer, you will craft and develop learning content for Cast Members and Consultants for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Technology. • This role leads all aspects of the production of learning content, from design and development through implementation and evaluation • Routine projects include both online and instructor-led learning components, covering a wide range of topic areas like product knowledge, policies and procedures, system training, or system process diagrams • This position will collaborate closely with peers with technical subject matter experts, business subject matter experts, and/or vendors • You will report to the Manager, Technical Product Management • Serve as the project leader to develop learning solutions that align with learning objectives, client needs, and business goals • Work collaboratively with other team members, subject matter authorities, and key partners, to define the scope, identify desired performance outcomes, document job tasks, and develop an end-to-end project plan • Recommend the appropriate learning solution(s) for a given need, based upon academic principles found in adult learning theory and current research • Develop learning content in a variety of formats including, but not limited to, reference guides, "how-to" tutorial resources, presentations, facilitator scripts, online learning experiences (e.g., eLearning, webinars), instructional videos, and traditional classroom learning experiences • Manage multiple learning content development projects simultaneously, scheduling design and review meetings-remaining accountable for maintaining project timelines • Follow established Instructional Design models for content design and development • Follow established Technical Diagram models for business process diagrams, data flow diagrams, etc. • Build effective assessment methods associated with learning content, including the development of knowledge assessments, skill assessments, and other measurement tools • Assist with internal learning content maintenance, ensuring content remains current and ready to be used, at any time • Conduct after action and annual learning content reviews to identify continuous improvement opportunities
