Supports the strategic mission of the assigned college, department, or unit through the development, implementation, measurement, and optimization of sophisticated marketing and community outreach initiatives. Responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive strategic marketing plan to support key department activities, events, and programs. Collaborates with department staff, administration, students, and/or faculty to grow awareness among prospective students and the general public. Manages the public communication of the department by deploying campaigns and strategies across various platforms including websites, other web assets, social media accounts, digital advertisements, email marketing, internal and external news coverage, and event listings, while maintaining university branding standards.

Location (Primary Location for Job Responsibilities): Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Supports the strategic mission of the assigned college, department, or unit through the development, implementation, measurement, and optimization of sophisticated marketing and community outreach initiatives. Responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive strategic marketing plan to support key department activities, events, and programs. Collaborates with department staff, administration, students, and/or faculty to grow awareness among prospective students and the general public. Manages the public communication of the department by deploying campaigns and strategies across various platforms including websites, other web assets, social media accounts, digital advertisements, email marketing, internal and external news coverage, and event listings, while maintaining university branding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Creates event-specific marketing and promotional plans, including strategic advertisement placements for featured events
  • Develops goals and objectives for department outreach activities
  • Creates a strategic outreach and recruitment contact plan
  • Tracks, measures, evaluates, and reports data results and effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns
  • Serves as project manager for department outreach events
  • Coordinates the creation and strategic deployment of press releases, email marketing campaigns, audio and visual digital media assets, and other promotional copy
  • Manages the design, production, and execution of advertising campaigns promoting featured events
  • Creates, designs, and implements the production of departmental marketing materials, working closely with department staff
  • May publish and/or maintain event calendars across multiple platforms as needed
  • Manages department website design and content updates
  • Manages all social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
  • May support budgeting for marketing and outreach as assigned
  • Responsible for maintaining established university branding, marketing, and communication standards
  • May supervise staff, interns, or student assistants
  • Based on location, may drive ticket sales and attendance at public events

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Required Experience

Three (3) years of marketing and/or communications experience

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in a related field (preferred)

Preferred Experience

Experience with Google Ads/Analytics, Adobe Creative Cloud, Facebook Ads Manager, email marketing, and other digital marketing platforms; experience managing social media strategy across multiple accounts; prior graphic design experience

  • Graphic design software proficiency (Adobe Creative Cloud or similar) aligned with KSU visual identity
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Attention to detail and follow-up skills
  • Customer service skills and professional communication etiquette
