Ownership Works (O.W.) is a fast‑growing nonprofit organization that fosters economic wellbeing for workers through shared ownership programs. The organization partners with private equity and public companies to design and implement broad‑based employee ownership plans.
About the Position
The Client Advisory Services team includes Private Equity, Investor & Plan Design; Culture & Business Transformation; and Financial Wellbeing.
As lead of the Private Equity, Investor & Plan Design sub‑team, the Director collaborates with investors and companies to design shared ownership plans, manages relationships with O.W.’s private equity partners, and shapes program design at client companies.
The role identifies, prioritizes, and closes new private equity partners, and creates new employee ownership models to meet evolving client needs.
Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of 50+ private equity and public clients, designing program structure, building team capabilities, and contributing to O.W.’s strategy.
Note: This role is scoped at the Director level, but Senior Director candidates may be considered.

P&L and relationship accountability for O.W.’s private equity and public client portfolio (50+ clients).
Build trusted relationships to drive shared ownership adoption and align with investment goals.
Oversee design and structure of shared ownership programs.
Improve team account management capabilities and develop innovative structuring approaches.
Build, coach, and enable the team to deliver on strategy.
Serve on the Client Advisory Services Leadership team, contributing to overall strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
B.A./B.S. required.
15+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles within management consulting.
Demonstrated experience navigating and leading diverse senior stakeholders.
Exposure to the private equity ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong management consulting background with outstanding client results.
Trusted client relationship building and complex organization navigation.
Executive presence and relationship management skills.
Ability to manage multiple large teams across projects.
Experience building and developing high‑performing teams.
Excellent people manager with inspirational leadership.
Deep understanding of the private equity ecosystem and firm dynamics.
Interest in ownership plan structuring and design (tax, legal).
Experience with culture‑driven business transformation.
Comfortable with startup nonprofit environment and fast‑paced operations.
Passion for social justice and Ownership Works mission.
Strong collaborator with cross‑functional experience.

Compensation Estimated salary for New York City: $250,000 - $290,000 plus an annual discretionary performance‑based bonus. Benefits include health, vision, and dental coverage, unlimited paid time off, 401(k) with generous employer contributions, and 18 weeks of paid parental leave.
Location Duty will be performed from our Midtown Manhattan office two days per week.
