Position Purpose and Objectives
This role directs and oversees a team of technicians responsible for installing audio‑visual hardware systems. The Lead AV Technician coordinates, inventories, assembles, and installs AV equipment on job‑site locations while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and client expectations.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct actions of installation teams and complete projects independently.
- Coordinate, schedule, and direct one or more teams, ensuring proper travel arrangements and accommodations.
- Train and supervise level Ⅲ and level Ⅳ technicians, helping them achieve higher level certifications.
- Move and reposition large equipment or wiring; must lift and carry heavy objects of 75 lbs unassisted and steady items above shoulder height.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot audio and video equipment installations.
- Install and terminate cables using solder or compression connectors.
- Drill drywall, concrete, and cinderblock for projectors, screens, cameras, and speaker systems.
- Work in confined spaces, on ladders, and lifts at heights exceeding 10 ft.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Prior AV team leadership and management experience (2–4 years).
- CTS‑I certification or ability to achieve certification within 60 days of hire.
- Successful completion of criminal background check, motor‑vehicle review, physical and drug test.
- Strong communication skills and experience directing teams.
- Computer proficiency with Google, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Comfort with hand tools, small power tools, and industrial tools.
- Quick learner and capable of making urgent decisions in fast‑paced environments.
- Problem‑solving, time‑management, and friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license with less than two citations in the last two years and reliable transportation.
- Lift 75 lbs and complete ladder and other safety training.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Coordinate and direct one or more AV technician teams on job sites.
- Request and coordinate travel and accommodation needs for AV teams.
- Maintain relationships with customer points of contact at various job sites.
Working Conditions
Work may occur in comfortable, air‑conditioned environments, but also in colder or hotter construction settings and occasionally outdoors. Tasks often involve manual labor, ladder use, and confined‑space work.

Pay
$25.00 – $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and in accordance with New York prevailing hourly wage requirements where applicable.
Job Locations
Job sites vary throughout the Buffalo, NY metropolitan area. Residency within 60 mi of Buffalo, NY is required. Opportunities nationwide are available.
