Job Description
The Creative Arts Therapist Level II is responsible for providing therapeutic services through various creative arts disciplines.
Design and implement engaging therapeutic group and individual programs that utilize creative arts therapy principles.
Conduct assessments to evaluate patients' strengths and weaknesses in social, cognitive, psychological, and physical functioning through creative arts processes.
Develop personalized treatment goals and objectives aimed at improving overall functioning and well-being.
Utilize art, music, drama, dance, and poetry to facilitate each patient's journey toward achieving their treatment goals.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, actively participating in meetings to formulate comprehensive treatment plans for each patient.
Document patient behaviors and responses in regular process notes, ensuring accurate records of progress.
Maintain detailed records, progress notes, and statistical information while participating in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, including preparing requisitions as necessary.
Supervise and coordinate activities of auxiliary staff involved in therapeutic services.
Provide guidance and mentorship to volunteers, interns, and students in the field of creative arts therapy.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
A valid License from the New York State Education Department to practice as a Creative Arts Therapist.
Two years of full-time, paid professional experience in creative arts therapy.
