Overview
The Englewood, CO office is looking for a Structural Design Manager to lead the structural design department within Sargent & Lundy's Energy & Industrial Group. Responsibilities
Directly manage, mentor, and motivate a team of structural designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Conduct performance reviews, manage workloads, and oversee professional development. Develop and implement departmental standards, processes, and best practices to maximize efficiency, quality, and project throughput. Manage project performance of direct reports to meet deadlines and budget requirements. Provide quality assurance of structural drawing deliverables for the department. Lead the coordination of structural design activities in 3-D models, including steel framing, concrete walls and foundations, and detailing consistent with engineering requirements. Act as the structural design team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated structural design model. Resolve clashes and discrepancies in the 3D model and report status. Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely design. Independently plan and execute design of structural deliverables. Qualifications
An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with 1+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience. Experience with CadWorx Structure modeling software is required. Eight or more years of detailed design experience in the development of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawings. Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models. Experience in the review of structural layout drawings involving steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing. Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process. Valued But Not Required Experience
Proficiency with MicroStation, Plant 3D, Advanced Steel Microsoft Office tools Awards & Benefits
