Reports To: Principal
Work Hours: Two days a week
Required Qualifications
Demonstrate a knowledge of library science as it relates to PK‑8 curriculum
Knowledge of technological skills and applications associated with library science
Management of a library & media center budget
Excellent Communication Skills
History of collaboration with teachers and administration
Innovative, creative and flexible management style
Understanding of the developmental needs of students of all ages Pre K – Grade 8
Prior experience will be considered
Responsibilities
Advancing the mission of education through the Goals & Criteria
Coordinating with administration the scheduling and operation of the library as it relates to volunteer program, story time, checkout & return policies, and keeping the collection current.
Implement innovative use of technology to enhance student learning.
Coordinate programs with teachers and students.
Instruct students in study skills, research, early‑childhood & lower school STEM curriculum, and library skills from the TX Education Agency.
Inform faculty, staff, and parents about book fairs, author visits, and accelerated reading programs.
Integration of technology and research tools into the library program.
Education
Associate Degree in related area preferred.
