Assistant Vice President, Data Integrity & User Experience Join the University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. (UTFI) in the role of Assistant Vice President, Data Integrity & User Experience. This position reports to the Vice President for Technology and Innovation and Chief Technology Officer, and it is responsible for shaping the enterprise strategy that ensures accurate, trusted, and governed advancement data supporting fundraising, engagement, compliance, and innovation across all campuses.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute an enterprise data integrity strategy aligned with UTFI’s technology roadmap and advancement priorities.

Champion a culture of data quality, transparency, and stewardship across all UTFI units and campuses.

Lead the creation and enforcement of data governance frameworks, including standards for data quality, privacy, and regulatory compliance.

Partner with executive leadership and campus advancement teams to align data governance policies with CRM and operational needs.

Collaborate with the business intelligence architecture team to identify data sources that can be integrated into the data warehouse and CRM.

Oversee the enterprise CRM (Salesforce/Kindsight) user experience, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adoption across the Foundation and campuses.

Align CRM data with data warehouse and reporting initiatives in partnership with the executive director of business intelligence & analytics.

Advance training, documentation, and process design that enhance system usability and end‑user satisfaction.

Manage technical support tiers (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3) and the information technology service management system.

Maintain UTFI’s comprehensive data documentation, including data dictionaries, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Strengthen collaboration between central services and campus advancement partners to ensure consistency, value delivery, and trusted data sharing.

Lead, mentor, and inspire staff across user experience, constituent management, and technical support.

Build high‑performing, service‑oriented teams that model collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Foster partnerships across advancement and IT to translate business needs into data and system solutions that drive results.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data management, business administration, or a related field.

Extensive and progressive experience working within a large, decentralized fundraising environment.

In‑depth expertise in all aspects of data management, CRM administration, or data governance; preferably in higher education or non‑profit sectors.

Demonstrated leadership of end‑user support, training, and adoption programs.

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams, set goals, manage performance, and drive results while managing enterprise‑level projects.

Knowledge of CRM tools and technologies commonly used in philanthropic organizations.

Strong track record of leveraging data and analysis to derive actionable strategy and drive business impact.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (travel responsibilities apply).

Preferred Education and Experience

Master’s degree in information systems, data science, or a related discipline.

Experience with Salesforce, Kindsight, Affinaquest, or other advancement CRMs.

Knowledge of data integrity and quality assurance tools (e.g., Validity DemandTools, OnDemand).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across campuses and leadership levels.
