Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • This position is responsible for coordinating and managing course scheduling for the School of Communication undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Overseeing summer and fall schedule-build in Student Central in accordance with University timelines.
  • Adjusting schedule as needed after Registrar-distribution of classroom space.
  • Routinely auditing class schedule to ensure proper meeting times, instructor assignments, teaching assistant assignments, classroom assignments, and reserve caps.
  • Ensuring textbook compliance, textbook entry for spring and summer schedules.
  • Auditing enrollment numbers and ensuring that reserve caps are adjusted to enrollment numbers where appropriate.
  • Communicating finalized schedules to faculty, adjuncts, and doctoral lead instructors.
  • Overseeing teaching assistant certification and ensuring that teaching assistants assignments are communicated to both TAs and lead instructors.
  • Supervising and auditing the submission of online classes to the Office of Distance Learning portal.
  • Collecting teaching preferences for Spring 2027 schedule and beginning the Spring 2027 schedule mapping process.
  • Submitting large lecture hall requests for Spring 2027 schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with course scheduling or academic program coordination, preferably at the college/university level.
