Summary

The Manager of social media is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that enhance the visibility of Children's Health and drive engagement with key audiences. This role is responsible for shaping our brand and reputation narrative through social media content and requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of social media trends and analytics. This position works collaboratively with system stakeholders, including clinical and market programs, the Foundation, and senior leaders to align social media strategy with business objectives in support of integrated marketing communications plans. This position also plays an active role in responding to emerging crises and issues on social channels in collaboration with marketing and communications counterparts.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops a team of social media strategists. Cultivates a culture of continuous learning and improvement, offering constructive feedback and coaching to ensure consistency and performance across social channels. Manages relationships with social agency partners and provides strategic input to senior leadership on social media plans.
  • Develops and executes social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engagement and loyalty. Manages daily operations of Children’s Health social media platforms, monitoring for trends and maintaining productive relationships across the system to uncover content that will help tell the Children’s Health story.
  • Utilizes data‑driven insights to measure and analyze content performance across social channels, making recommendations for continuous improvement. Monitors industry trends, audience behaviors and competitor activities to identify opportunities and potential risks, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Works closely with cross‑functional storytelling group to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging across all marketing and communication channels. Collaborates with internal team members to synchronize content efforts and optimize reach and impact.

Work Experience

  • At least 7 years of professional experience (at least 5 years focused on social media strategy) – Required
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful social media strategies that drove engagement and supported business growth – Required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to develop high-performing teams – Required
  • Healthcare or agency experience – Preferred

Education

  • Four‑year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Digital Experience, Communications or a related field – Required
