Senior UI & Web Services Developer
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)
Salary: $65.00 – $70.00 USD hourly
Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
About The Role We are seeking a seasoned developer to contribute to the modernization of HHSC IT applications. This role focuses on both User Interface (UI) and Web Services development, with a strong emphasis on scalable, responsive design and service-oriented architecture.
Responsibilities
Front-End Development
Build modern, responsive Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular and TypeScript.
Implement client-facing applications with responsive design principles.
Web Services Development
Convert legacy SOAP-based services to RESTful APIs.
Develop secure RESTful services using JBoss EAP.
Full Lifecycle Participation
Engage in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Create and maintain technical and design documentation.
Maintenance & Support
Perform system analysis, defect resolution, and production support.
Apply contemporary testing methodologies and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in all the following areas:
4+ years with Angular (TypeScript)
HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS
4+ years developing RESTful services with security standards (JWT, OAuth)
Experience with SOAP and REST APIs
Core technologies: Java, JEE, Spring Framework, JSON, XML, Maven, OpenAPI v3, JSP, Struts
Application Design: Integration of web services into Angular/React SPAs, development of reusable, testable modules/components, experience with JEE Application Servers and caching strategies
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server (v8 or later)
Agile Development Methodologies (Scrum preferred)
Development experience for mobile and tablet platforms
