Location (Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary Creates and implements technology solutions and pedagogical strategies by providing technical support to faculty. Provides support to faculty in designing online, hybrid, and open courses that promote student learning. Offers instructional design support and guidance to subject matter experts in the creation of course content. Works collaboratively with other development team members in the production of courses with a focus on sustainable course design. Provides general and technical advice to faculty during course design and development. Supports faculty in the use of learning analytics.

Responsibilities

Consults with faculty on a wide variety of issues or concerns to improve courses by integrating research‑based practices

Supports faculty in implementing engaging, research‑based activities in online, hybrid, and face‑to‑face courses to support student success

Works within the learning management system to provide faculty with course design assistance

Assists faculty with hands‑on support for online course design and development

Designs, develops, and implements micro‑learning packages for faculty development

Assists in the creation of learning objects based on faculty and college needs

Provides support for faculty teaching, using technologies, developing, and revising online courses, etc.

Works with team to provide follow‑up support for faculty attending professional development

Plans and designs online training programs for faculty who will be developing and teaching online courses

Monitors, documents, tracks, and reports on work performed and outcomes

Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and instruction design theory through research and professional activities

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Instructional Design, Technical Communications, Instructional Technology, Education, Learning Science, or another related field

Required Experience : Three (3) years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Accessibility professional certifications (e.g., CPACC or WAS)

Quality Matters Applying the Rubric Certification (APPQMR) or equivalent such as OSCQR

PMP, CPTD, CPT or other recognized professional accreditation related to the field of instructional design

Knowledge of instructional design methods and practices

Knowledge of instructional assessment practices and the use of learning analytics to support student success

Knowledge and experience with Desire2Learn Brightspace

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Previous experience in higher education and technology‑enhanced teaching and learning

Experience using innovative technologies and research‑based techniques for technology‑enhanced learning

Experience developing online courses for higher education

Experience with graphic design and video production

Abilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

Awareness of copyright considerations for web content

Knowledge of emerging trends in educational technology

Knowledge of tools and techniques for technology‑enhanced learning

Knowledge of foundational learning science, pedagogical, and instructional design research

Awareness of rubrics and processes for evaluating online course design and/or facilitation

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, Desire2Learn Brightspace)

Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills

Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette
