Job Description The Central Science Team within Amazon’s People Experience and Technology org (PXTCS) uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements that simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, well‑being, and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team that combines science, research, design, and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal. Our team is looking for a UX Designer that is passionate about designing global products that are intuitive and bring value to people’s lives. You will empathize and understand user needs, then translate those needs into specific experiences and designs. You thrive on informed iteration to create experiences that work at scale, possess impeccable design sense, a keen eye for detail and craft, and a collaborative spirit. Key Responsibilities Work closely with cross‑functional teams and collaborate to define and produce solutions for real customer problems. Support your design work using all available insights, including quantitative data, site metrics, customer feedback, and usability findings. Advocate for and follow user‑centered design principles. Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, detailed visual mockups, and prototypes to communicate high‑level design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors. Advocate for the customer in a corporate environment, fostering a shared understanding of the customer‑centric intersection between design, content, business, and marketing values. Present to business and design leadership. Scope design initiatives and manage/prioritize work items. Basic Qualifications 6+ years of design experience. Have an available online portfolio. Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax. Preferred Qualifications Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes. Experience with UX design of complex workflows. Compensation Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location, and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
