AlliedTravelCareers is working with to find a qualified Polysomnographic / Sleep Tech in Ithaca, New York, 14850!
About The Position

  • Prepare, calibrate, and operate sleep diagnostic equipment to record various physiological data during overnight sleep studies.

  • Perform and monitor diagnostic and therapeutic sleep procedures, including CPAP/BiPAP titrations.

  • Record and analyze physiological parameters such as EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, airflow, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation, and body movement.

  • Score and interpret sleep stages and events following AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) standards.

  • Document and verify accurate patient information and study results within the Epic EMR system.

  • Educate patients on sleep testing procedures, CPAP/BiPAP usage, and sleep hygiene.

  • Apply infection control procedures and maintain a safe and sterile testing environment.

  • Work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure quality outcomes.

  • Provide care for both adult and pediatric patients (children 4 years and older).

Job Requirements
  • Recent experience performing polysomnographic testing (1+ year preferred).

  • Experience working with Epic EMR required.

  • Must have experience conducting pediatric sleep studies (ages 4 and up).

  • Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography or Respiratory Therapy program.

  • Registered with one of the following:

    1. BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists) - RPSGT

    2. AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) - RST

    3. NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) - CRT/RRT with sleep credentials

  • Active New York State License required at the time of start.

  • Must meet CMS sleep study credentialing requirements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in AASM scoring rules and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of pediatric sleep physiology and testing modifications.

  • Strong patient communication and education skills.

  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
