Job Description

ECU Department of Laupus Library is currently seeking a Graduate Library Assistant. The Access Services department is seeking a detail oriented graduate student with exceptional customer service skills, who possesses a high level of initiative, has a positive attitude, is flexible, and is able to work independently as well as with others.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Service Desk - Assist library users in-person and over the phone with locating and checking out library materials and answering general library questions. Offer assistance to patrons using floor computers with research tools, general software questions, and printing issues.
  • Information Services - Use instructional technologies to assist librarians with updating instructional materials.
  • Library Collections Maintenance - Shelving, shifting, straightening library materials, and inventory.


Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)

Master in Library Science candidates are preferred but are not required.

Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work day shifts, as well as some evening and weekend shifts. Candidates must also have the ability to set priorities, manage work, and meet deadlines independently and collaboratively.
