Archinect
Q-Arch Design (evolving from Q-Architecture) is an all-inclusive design practice in San Francisco that approaches the built environment through an integrated lens—where design, structure, and performance inform one another. We create spaces that are both functional and inspiring, grounded in creative vision, technical clarity, and science-based positioning.
We’re seeking a motivated Architectural Designer with a Master’s degree in Architecture and 2+ years of professional experience to join our nimble, collaborative team.
About Us Our firm was founded on the principle of approaching theoretical and science-based positioning, integrating research, material intelligence, and performance-driven thinking into the design process—grounded in strong foundations in design and engineering. Our work spans urban infill housing and adaptive reuse, rooted in the belief that thoughtful design can advance environmental and societal goals.
Our culture values curiosity, mindfulness, and precision. We work closely together in an open, engaged environment where everyone contributes to the design dialogue. Weekly design reviews, hands‑on site visits, and direct interaction with clients and city agencies keep our process dynamic and grounded. As part of our studio rhythm, we also offer a weekly mindful practice—a space to pause, reflect, and sustain creative focus and well‑being.
What Makes Us Unique Our firm operates at the intersection of architecture and engineering, bringing clarity to complex design challenges. We translate technical and regulatory constraints into clear, actionable strategies—empowering both clients and team members to make informed, confident decisions. We also value giving back to the academic community. Team members may have opportunities to participate in academic reviews and serve on design juries, sharing professional insight while connecting with emerging designers and educators.
Position Requirements
Master’s degree in Architecture
Minimum 2 years of professional experience
Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Sketchup, Enscape, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite
Strong design and visualization skills
Familiarity with California building codes and permitting processes preferred
Full‑time, in‑person position (San Francisco studio)
What We Offer
Direct mentorship and collaboration with firm leadership
Meaningful design responsibility on active projects
Opportunities for academic exposure, such as participation in design juries
Support for professional development, including industry events, continuing education, and peer‑led lunch‑and‑learns
If you’re a thoughtful designer who thrives in a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your portfolio, résumé, and a brief statement of interest to info@que-arch.com
