Public Services Librarian
Join Inside Higher Ed as a Public Services Librarian at Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) – a role that coordinates library instructional services, reference and information services, programming, outreach, engagement activities and access services.
Responsibilities
The Public Services Librarian supports the Director of Library Information and Technical Services in maintaining library operations and recommends policies and procedures that manage collections and services.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA or AASL accredited institution.
- One year of professional experience – preferably in a college library or higher education institution providing information literacy instruction or professional training.
- Demonstrated competency with library information systems and databases, emerging technologies and instructional multimedia applications.
- Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm for diverse populations and strong customer service and teamwork commitment.
- A criminal background check is required.

Salary
Annual range: $66,070 – $81,403. The maximum number of years of experience an employee may receive is ten years.
