Federal Work Study - Library Circulation Student Assistant

Employment Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Job Summary

This position assists the Circulation Department in Ingram Library. It provides customer service to library users during all operating hours (morning, afternoon, and evening shifts).

Responsibilities

• Checking materials in and out
• Providing information about library policies to users
• Processing items from other USG schools
• Shelving items
• Research support, data gathering, and other library related projects

Required Qualifications

• Active University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
• Completed coursework equivalent to Sophomore standing and a 2.5 cumulative GPA
• Availability for shifts in morning, afternoon, and evening (schedule will accommodate school schedule)
• Coverage needed for all hours that the library is open
• Basic computer skills and comfort working on a computer
• Some customer service experience expected

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous library experience
• Extensive customer service experience or training
• Schedule flexibility
