Responsibilities The Vendor Manager will work with Merchant’s most strategic teams and vendors and be responsible for selection expansion, building direct relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor setup and new item setup processes, setting prices, developing collaborative marketing and promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements. In addition, the Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator when working with Amazon internal groups such as in‑stock management, site merchandising, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of Excel experience 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting experience with negotiations and delivering results Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership 5+ years of owning program strategy, end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization 5+ years of working cross‑functionally across several teams, or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership Preferred Qualifications Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development Knowledge of a varied set of software and editing tools (including HTML, Excel, image editing software, SQL) Experience with supplier or vendor relationship management Professional online retail experience Compensation Base pay ranges from $66,000 per year in the lowest geographic market to $141,100 per year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
