Networking and Telecommunications Assistant

to assist the department in day-to-day operations. This position will be responsible for documentation, maintenance, and support of a variety of hardware and systems such as the campus phone system, uninterruptible power supplies, and network switches. Networking and Telecommunications is one of five departments within the organization, responsible for all aspects of phone service, wired and wireless data networks, and cable television and, in collaboration with other IT departments, card access. The department offers prospective employees an opportunity to work in an exciting, highly technical environment, focused on providing reliable, mission-critical services to the campus community. Duties include but are not limited to: Administration of Phone System including user programming, moves/adds/changes and hardware maintenance Management of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Source) Management of edge network switches Management of the campus network access control system Management of departmental forms, assets, and configuration items in the TeamDynamix ITSM system System documentation Salary:

$60,000-65,000 commensurate with experience. SUNY Oneonta is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) qualifying employer. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: 2 years experience working in IT support Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to lift 50lbs Preferred Qualifications: Degree in telecommunications, networking, or a related IT field Familiarity with IPv4 and IPv6 networks Experience configuring and installing phone or network equipment Experience working in higher education Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience working with and serving diverse populations Additional Information: SUNY Oneonta enrolls about 5,500 students who pursue bachelor's or master's degrees or certificates in one of 70-plus academic programs.
