The Marketing & Development Specialist identifies opportunities and implements strategies to expand the Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau marketing strategy. The Marketing & Development Specialist work drives Knox County to be a premiere destination in Central Ohio, while directly impacting economic and tourism development. This is a full-time salary exempt position reporting to the Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Principle Duties, Responsibilities, and Oversight
Assist Executive Director in developing and executing an annual marketing strategy. Review and recommend marketing tool(s) and determine appropriate channels/campaigns for audience(s). Develop and write content/copy for various publications/platforms. Coordinate print needs for marketing materials. Develop and coordinate public relations locally, regionally, state-wide and beyond. Measure effectiveness, KPI’s and ROI of marketing activities/investments. Partner Relations Develop and create tool kits, resources and learning opportunities for partners. Collaborate on materials that partners may utilize and leverage to increase brand awareness. Develop and coordinate itineraries, meetings and group tour needs for partners, planners and groups as requested. Attend and represent Knox County CVB at trade shows, state, local and industry-wide events. Web + Digital Assist Executive Director to develop digital marketing campaigns in tandem with local partners, Tourism Ohio or other regional partners. Assist Executive Director in managing website content, updates, and monitor activity. Coordinate updates with website agency and Develop social media content calendar and manage social strategies on Facebook and Instagram. Photography + Video Assist with photoshoot or content gathering for web, visitor guide, social and marketing campaigns. Manage and coordinate any video production for social, marketing campaigns and other projects. Visitor Center + Office Supervise daily responsibilities and tasks of additional marketing staff and/or interns. Provide information, assistance, and services to inquiries (online, phone or in-person). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelors in marketing, communications or 2-5 years’ experience in related fields, including marketing, advertising, community development or graphic design. Exceptional copywriting and grammatical skills. Experience with planning, and project management. Experience with various social media platforms and applications. Experience with budget preparation and proven ability to work within a budget. Employee management and supervision experience. Knowledge and familiarity with Knox County or regional tourism. Must be creative, self-motivated, confident, energetic, collaborative and provide exceptional, high-quality customer service. Experience with Website management or development. Experience with Hubspot and/or newsletter distribution platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Suite Proficient in Canva Design or Adobe Design.
