Design fire alarm systems in a BIM model using design information and data provided by the Engineer/Architect, which may include sketches, details, diagrams and/or calculations. Generate contract documents from the BIM model and perform other BIM Uses identified in BIM Planning documents. Work with engineers and architects with minimal oversight; coordinate with multiple consultants, disciplines and project team members. Integrate design analysis software with Revit when applicable; familiarize with NFPA and industry standards for fire protection systems. Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with clients and internal/external project teams; some travel may be required. Qualifications

Educational: Associate degree in a closely related field or a High School diploma with a combination of education and relevant experience. Licenses/Certifications: Entry level NFPA, ICC Certifications or other specialized credentials related to Fire & Life Safety. Technical skills: Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with specialty software used for designs specific to area of expertise. Experience: A minimum of 2 years Fire & Life Safety design experience in systems design or regulatory enforcement preferred; experience with architectural/engineering consulting firms or role-specific to Fire & Life Safety is a plus. Soft skills: Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate between consultants, disciplines, and project teams; an active participant in an employee-owned culture.
