Job Overview Provide musical accompaniment for contemporary, African, and/or ballet classes for majors in the Dance Department. May accompany elective classes as determined by the Music Supervisor or Department Chair. This is an hourly‑paid position working a maximum of 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities A strong sense of rhythm is required, and flexibility to change music to meet the needs of the instructor. Respond to movement by discerning meter, accent, articulation, and nuance. Arrive promptly, set up instruments before class starts, and demonstrate a positive attitude and respect.
Extensive experience as an accompanist for contemporary, African, and ballet classes; expertise with a wide range of appropriate musical literature for dance classes; ability to provide specialized musical needs; read and improvise various musical styles.
Qualifications Required education and experience: High school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience.

Scheduled hours: 0.2 (approx. up to 10 hrs/week)
Shift: Varying shifts
