The Salvation Army Midland Division Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is seeking a Seasonal Band Musician. This part‑time seasonal position (15 hours per week) starts at $15.00 per hour and will play brass seasonal music at holiday events throughout the Midland Division.
Essential Functions
Work with DMD, Officers, and DHQ staff in the Program Department.
Play for various events during the Kettle Season across the Midland Division.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in brass instrumental performances.
Ability to read music at an accomplished level, treble clef preferred.
Ability to work with and relate to people of various backgrounds in a nondiscriminatory manner regardless of age, sex, cultural history, ethnicity, economic level, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
Strong communication skills demonstrated by experience in working with speakers of English as a second language, as well as cross‑cultural communication.
Adhere to all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
Familiarity with The Salvation Army's area of service.
Perform other duties as required.
Be available to perform at kettle sites and events in St. Louis, Missouri, and Illinois during the week and on weekends.
Physical and Working Conditions
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis and for extended periods of time.
Ability to move and pack music stands and chairs in and out of vehicles.
Ability to play in various types of weather.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes).
Ability to understand written information.
