The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, research, and education, primarily in our new OSU multi-specialty medical office buildings and surgical suites in the metro Columbus area. The Ohio State University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Glaucoma division. Academic rank and track are commensurate with academic record and experience. Duties and Responsibilities

The Division Director and/or Department Chair determine work assignments. Each faculty member is expected to perform the full range of responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Clinical services are a component of faculty responsibilities, with or without the presence of a trainee. Support the academic mission of the Department. In consultation with the Department Chair, opportunities may include research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development and education initiatives, or other activities consistent with the faculty assignment. Faculty candidates will be responsible for patient care, research, and education, primarily in OSU multi-specialty medical office buildings and surgical suites in the metro Columbus area. Participation in coverage at Columbus, VA, is required. Service commitments include clinical service at OSUWMC facilities and other assigned sites. Active participation in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions is expected, along with involvement in local, regional, or national professional organizations. Requirements

Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment and eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved Ophthalmology residency. Subspecialty training in glaucoma fellowship is required. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery with evidence of basic or clinical research and publications. Commitment to resident, fellow, and medical student education is required.
