Job summary Working under the supervision of the FPGA group manager, your responsibilities as an FPGA designer will include defining, implementing, testing, and supporting high-speed, high-performance digital circuits for the FPGA embedded in various telecommunication applications used across EXFO’s test and measurement equipment product line. What you’ll do You will work in a hybrid mode within an Agile development environment. Your tasks include studying industry standards related to communication protocols, exploring FPGA technologies to guide design solutions, defining circuit architecture, designing low-level FPGA designs (inputs/outputs, interfaces), coding IP blocks for high-speed digital circuits, compiling designs with EDA tools, and optimizing circuits for performance. You will also perform functional verification of FPGA designs both in simulation and on electronic boards, and collaborate closely with hardware, software, and verification teams to integrate FPGA functions into the final product. If necessary, you may perform other related duties that fall under this position. What we’re looking for Technical skills Excellent knowledge of FPGA development processes and tools (Vivado, Quartus); Strong knowledge of HDL and scripting languages (VHDL, Verilog, Python, Perl, TCL); Familiarity with simulation tools (Modelsim, Questa); Practical knowledge of verification methods; Knowledge of telecommunication principles (Fiber, Ethernet, LTE, 5G, etc.); Understanding of server infrastructure technologies, virtualization, and CI tools; Experience with board-level FPGA design; Experience with Agile methodology; Required aptitudes Passion for high technology and work; Autonomous with full project ownership; Team-oriented, sharing success and learning from others; Creative problem-solver. Must have 10 years of experience as FPGA Designer. Language proficiency in French and English (verbal and written). Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Sciences.
