As a Civil Designer, you design complete sets of site development plans that include site geometry, utilities, grading, drainage, and erosion and sediment control. You work to meet client specifications and our design standards, and you perform drainage calculations for slopes, sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, and more. You will work on projects for various industries, taking designs from concept to construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D. You analyze surveys and field notes to identify potential problems, helping keep projects on time and within budget. You are a motivated self-starter who completes redlines and revisions promptly and views each task as an opportunity to improve your work. You collaborate with project managers to stay updated on progress and to address challenges. You also support the design staff as needed. Your days are busy, but you enjoy the team rapport and the chance to hone your AutoCAD skills. Qualifications for a Civil Designer
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or landscape architecture or the equivalent in technical training and experience High proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite Full range of visual depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors Valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to travel occasionally overnight Two or more years of CAD civil design experience is strongly preferred. Certification as an EIT is also preferred. Work Schedule
The civil design position works a full-time hybrid schedule with some overnight travel. The flexibility for how remote the position can be is based on the skills and experience of the employee and the needs of the department.
