SolidWorks Mechanical Drafter / CAD Designer Location: Rockford, IL • Job type: Permanent / Full-Time Our client in Rockford, IL is hiring a Mechanical Drafter / Designer to create and revise mechanical drawings, assemblies, and bills of material to support engineering and manufacturing. Base pay range: $52,000.00/yr - $72,800.00/yr Responsibilities
Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create 3D models, assembly drawings, and detail drawings Prepare and maintain accurate BOMs Apply proper drafting standards and practices Participate in design reviews with engineers, customers, and sales staff Assist engineers with drawings and documentation for quotations/proposals Identify and report conflicts/discrepancies in specifications Verify drawings comply with standards and drafting practices Support manufacturing by reviewing drawings/BOMs pre-build Update drawings and documentation to reflect changes Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology or related field required Software experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD Microsoft Office; Adobe Reader and Acrobat Ability to follow instructions and support engineers/manufacturing teams Strong knowledge of drafting principles, geometric tolerances, and dimensioning standards Familiarity with machining/fabrication methods Basic understanding of mechanical components (bearings, bushings, fasteners, belts, gearboxes, etc.) Ability to interpret/apply ISO and ANSI standards Strong attention to detail and organizational skills About the employer
