Otak is currently hiring a Structural Designer/EIT to join our Front Range team in Louisville, CO. You will collaborate with architects, building owners, and builders to design elegant solutions for projects of all types, sizes, and levels of complexity. From aesthetically pleasing pedestrian bridges to welcoming underpasses, unique vehicular bridges, context-sensitive retaining walls, and fish passages and diversion structures, our structures team provides a broad range of solutions that balance form, function, sustainability, constructability, schedule, and budget.
What You'll Do
Guide structural designers/technicians in development of plans and calculations for vehicular bridges, pedestrian bridges, and retaining walls.
Perform design services matching local, state and federal design standards.
Prepare and lead preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD and OpenRoads.
Prepare specifications and cost estimates.
Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision.
Assist in developing and maintaining schedules for product delivery.
Provide construction support services.
Perform other structures related design tasks as assigned.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience working directly with roadway engineers, water resources engineers, and public clients is required, along with strong client service skills.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successfully passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Bluebeam, and current structural software applications such as AASHTOWare, RISA 3D, Lpile, PGSuper and Enercalc.
Proficiency and familiarity with applicable Codes, including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO LRFD Pedestrian Bridge Design Specifications; familiarity with the CDOT Bridge Design Manual is preferred.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 per year
