Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is seeking a full‑time Electrical CAD Designer/Drafter for our Foxborough, MA office. This hybrid role will support utility power delivery projects across transmission, distribution, substation, and renewable infrastructure markets.

As part of this role you will create, edit, and review electrical drafting packages, support engineering planning, and assist project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget. Job Description
Perform computer-aided drafting and/or design tasks. Assist with drafting quality control. Create and edit electrical, structural, and control drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, including one‑line diagrams, three‑line diagrams, logic diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel front views, control house layouts, and physical/civil yard layout drawings. Learn and apply internal and client drafting standards, practices, and procedures. Coordinate and assist engineers with plans & specifications development, collaborate on design issues, and incorporate concepts into CAD drawing packages for utility power delivery projects. Assist project managers and engineers in delivering projects on time and within budget. Attend job meetings, coordinate activities as required, and attend training as requested to enhance duties. Complete and submit weekly paperwork. Requirements
Required Education/Experience: Minimum 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without need for sponsorship. Associate’s/technical degree in an accredited drafting program, Computer Aided Architectural Drafting and Design program, technical school in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. Or 3+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment. Working knowledge of CAD standards and drafting best practices. Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills. Desired Education/Experience: 3+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Experience with CAD image integration such as Autodesk Raster Design or Bentley Descartes. Construction or utility experience interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation physical/civil drawings. Experience working with scaled drawings and survey coordinate systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with BlueBeam Revu or alternative PDF editor software. Experience with ProjectWise File Management System. Reliable, detail‑oriented self‑starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks. Familiarity with basic engineering principles and practical design solutions. Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail. Self‑starter who can work with little or no supervision, strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn and adapt quickly. Pre‑Screen
