Data Contextualization Masterclass 2023
Our values Impact : Cogniters strive to make an impact in all that they do. We are result‑oriented, always asking ourselves.
Ownership : Cogniters embrace a culture of ownership. We go beyond our comfort zones to contribute to the greater good, fostering inclusivity and sharing responsibilities for challenges and success.
Relentless : Cogniters are relentless in their pursuit of innovation. We are determined and deliverable (never ruthless or reckless), facing challenges head‑on and viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth.
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Product Designer to lead design for our core AI experiences built on top of our industrial data and AI platform, Cognite Data Fusion (CDF). As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll use advanced AI tools and methods to move from insight → concept → working experience with high speed and clarity. You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, strategy, and customers to uncover unmet needs, validate hypotheses, and turn ambiguous problems into elegant, testable, data‑aware solutions. You’re hands‑on, experimental, and fluent in AI—converting user research to compelling prototypes, and shaping trustworthy, human‑in‑the‑loop experiences that deliver business impact.
Key Responsibilities: Product Design Excellence
Prototype with real data and real models:
connect to mock data or internal APIs; validate flows under realistic latency, streaming, and cost constraints
Design for probabilistic systems:
author patterns for imperfect answers, disagreement handling, correction, and escalation to humans‑in‑the‑loop
Express ideas at multiple fidelities:
from prompt‑generated concept boards to interactive agents, micro‑workflows, and production‑ready UI
Partner with business designers and product strategists
to evaluate desirability, feasibility, and viability; shape experience KPIs and success metrics
Tell the story
through compelling narratives, visuals, and prototypes that make the future feel obvious—and shippable
Lead design sessions
and facilitate cross‑functional workshops
Key Responsibilities: Design Execution & Ownership
Own outcomes end‑to‑end
from discovery to shipped experience: research plans, flows, systems, content, and component‑level detail
Operationalize AI in the UX:
define tool/agent contracts, error states, monitoring hooks, and feedback loops to continuously improve quality and cost
Collaborate tightly with engineering
to scope increments, derisk hard problems early, and land details with high craft
Continuously validate
via user research, experiment design, and rapid iteration; make evidence‑based tradeoffs across user value, reliability, and cost
Required Qualifications
5+ years
of product design experience
Fluency with AI‑native workflows:
prompt design, evaluation, and chaining; agents/tools; RAG; model/runtime constraints (latency, token/cost budgets).
Hands‑on prototyping with real data
(e.g., connecting prototypes to APIs/SDKs, lightweight code, or no/low‑code tools) to validate feasibility and UX.
Strong user research skills:
plan and run studies, synthesize qualitative & quantitative signals into clear insights and direction.
Portfolio
demonstrating end‑to‑end ownership of complex, data‑heavy or AI‑powered experiences, including trust/safety and human‑in‑the‑loop patterns.
Excellent collaboration & communication:
proactive stakeholder management, clear storytelling, and comfort presenting to executives and customers.
