Bayer .
We are seeking a scientist to identify gene‑editing targets and develop predictive models that link genotype to phenotype using large, diverse agricultural and genetic datasets.
Responsibilities
Produce and document recommendations for alleles that achieve desired phenotypic impact.
Develop state‑of‑the‑art genetic discovery tools to identify novel genetic candidates with optimal phenotypic performance using genomic and phenotypic datasets.
Create robust workflows that enable cross‑team communication, decision making, and iterative learning from key experiments to shape research direction.
Identify methods to capture complex genetic interactions and the influence of variation on observed phenotypes, improving design and prediction for gene‑editing pipelines.
Lead or assist in gathering, curating, quality‑controlling, and analyzing new data sources (e.g., functional genomics, phenomics) across R&D teams.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, Computational Biology, or related field.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English (written and verbal).
Experience collecting, analyzing, and leveraging complex biological datasets to generate testable hypotheses.
Proficiency with computational and analytical tools in molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Preferred: background in Plant Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Machine/Deep Learning, or related disciplines.
Plant development experience and a track record of collaborating in cross‑functional, cross‑cultural teams.
Ability to influence stakeholders and prioritize multiple projects at enterprise level.
Compensation and Benefits USD 80,504.00 – 120,756.00 per annum plus possible bonus or commission. Health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, and sick leave are included. Salary range may vary based on location and experience.
