Join Confluent Medical Technologies as a Manufacturing Technician I. We collaborate with our customers to bring medical device projects from rapid prototype to high volume production.
Job Description In this role, you will be responsible for production planning and inventory control for multiple products while prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. You will lead continuous improvement, product flow, and capacity improvement initiatives to enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
Process development technician tasks include setting up automated and manual applications, evaluating historical manufacturing methods, and improving existing and future methods. Key applications include wire winding, surface grinding, laser cutting, laser welding, and deburring.
You will work under little to no supervision and follow detailed verbal, written, and hands‑on instructions. You will program, set up, and run mechanical systems with complex features and ramp up manufacturing activities to transition from product development to high volume production, meeting project timetables, productivity, and quality goals.
Essential Requirements
CNC programming, setup and operation of semi‑automated wire winding systems
Heat treatment process development
Wire unwinding and prototype part processing
Conduct experiments, record test procedures, collect data, and document results in a lab notebook
Operate testing services, maintain equipment, using semi‑automated wire winder, cryostat, Instron tensile tester, vision system inspection methods
Engage in laser operations, deburring, forming operations
Solid modeling and tooling design
Execute in‑process and product release testing
Assist engineers with troubleshooting and debugging equipment, tooling, and processes
Core Competencies
High school diploma or equivalent with 3‑5 years of relevant experience in medical devices or Nitinol processing/manufacturing
CNC programming (preferred), CAM programming (preferred), CNC machining, and understanding of Gcode (preferred)
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks (preferred)
Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude when working with tools and equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work well in a team
