Senior Manufacturing Process & Prototype Design Technician Join MicroAire Surgical Instruments, a mid‑size medical device company in Charlottesville, VA, as a hands‑on, solutions‑driven technician. In this role you will lead prototype development, process improvements, and tooling design to help turn product ideas into manufacturable parts.

Location: Charlottesville, VA | Salary: $75,200.00–$158,100.00

What You’ll Do

Design and fabricate prototypes, tooling, and fixtures using manual and CNC equipment.

Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes.

Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Create and update CAD models and drawings (SolidWorks preferred).

Assist with equipment repair and process documentation.

Partner with supply chain to support design changes and supplier development.

What You Bring

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical/electronics technology.

3+ years in a manufacturing environment with CNC and manual machining experience.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM (SolidWorks; FeatureCAM preferred).

Strong skills in process development, fixture design, and blueprint reading.

Experience with inspection tools and statistical process control (SPC, DOE a plus).
